Introduction of the PMRC
The Personalized Medicine Research Center (PMRC) was established in 2016 with the aim of advancing knowledge in the field of personalized medicine. The Ministry of Health and Medical Education entrusted the center with the mission of creating the necessary infrastructure, providing the required human resources, and conducting in-depth studies, research, and education in the domain of personalized medicine.
The center also focuses on advancing personalized medicine through interdisciplinary and systematic research, education, and the clinical application of personalized medicine. Its primary focus lies in integrating genomic data and advanced technologies to improve patient care, particularly in the fields of cardiometabolic diseases, cancer, and pharmacogenomic studies.
The multidisciplinary approach employed in personalized medicine enables research outcomes to significantly enhance public health.
Research in the area of pharmacogenetics is pursued from two perspectives at the PMRC.
First, we aim to develop and successfully implement best practices for the clinical adoption of pharmacogenetics and personalized medicine, particularly in endocrinology and oncology.
Additionally, we are actively engaged in numerous research activities to generate the necessary evidence for the clinical translation of specific gene-drug interactions.
